My Wife’s Fight With Breast Cancer
one of the saddest and most beautiful photo essays I’ve ever seen

I don’t think I could ever be this open photographically showing my wife slowly dying. I couldn’t do it, but this is beautiful.

I hope to be able to document like this one day

My Landlady Lip-sync’s Her Favorite Song

This is my 89-year-old landlady, Carol Lyn Black lip-syncing her favorite song “Happy Days Are Here Again”.

I did this piece as part of “Muse”, an online class offered on the educational website Skillshare taught by Katrina Tan-Conte.

I used this class as an excuse to experiment with a motion portrait. It was a blast, the class was great and Carol is a delight. Let’s get her on a TV show folks!

this is the best thing i’ve seen all day, if not all week. i could watch this over and over forever. tryin’ hard to control my tears of simple joy on this one.

❝Being a feminist doesn’t mean suddenly no longer liking problematic things. If you stopped liking everything that was sexist in media and entertainment there would be no media or entertainment left. Being a feminist, to me, is being aware of what it is you’re liking, and of its problematic aspects.❞
